Sharks acquire D Rivet from Montreal

02/26/2007 - San Jose, CA (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The San Jose Sharks acquired defenseman Craig Rivet and a fifth-round selection in the 2008 NHL Draft from the Montreal Canadiens on Sunday in exchange for defenseman Josh Gorges and the Sharks' first-round pick in the 2007 Draft.

Rivet, who had spent his 12-year career with Montreal, has recorded six goals and 10 assists in 54 games with the Canadiens this season. In 653 career-games with Montreal, Rivet tallied 39 goals and 112 assists.

Gorges posted six assists in 49 games for the Sharks last year in his rookie campaign and has a goal and three helpers in 47 games this season.
